I've had multiple appointments at and through LVIM at this point, and if you're eligible for care, please seek it out! The volunteers at LVIM are kind, polite, and compassionate. As someone overweight, I've dealt with many doctors who blame every ailment on that and don't respond to my attempts to navigate health issues with anything but "just lose weight" in mind. And when I found out I did actually lose some, it was celebrated *with* me. It meant a lot. Here, I've yet to feel condescended to like I have in the past with other doctors about my weight or health issues that compounded due to not being able to access care even with insurance. It's helping overcome my anxiety about seeing doctors, a big stopping block for me for multiple years. I'd also like to leave a positive review for Mercy-- Please don't let the other comment put you off seeing her. Mercy is kind and respectful, and does things like ask if I want to discuss my weight instead of just pushing her concerns on me. That's not something a lot of doctors do, and it really stood out to me. The visit for blood work went great. The next visit was with Mercy and that was horrible. My bp was very high which was part of the reason for my visit but Lynn was very rude about it, like I could control it. I brushed it off as her having a bad day. Mercy came in and we went over my history and meds. I told her upfront my list was NOT complete because I couldn't remember them all. When something said sparked my memory and I told her the medicine she snapped at me because I didn't tell her that earlier. She then told me that she wouldn't be filling my meds because I had beed off them for 6 months. These were diabetic, thyroid, and blood pressure. She also went on and on about how I only need to consume 1000 calories a day 1200 if I was active. She carried on about my weight despite me telling her I had lost 40 pounds in the last 6 months as well as lowered my A1C and my blood sugar. She still went on about how my body could handle fewer calories. She was rude and condescending the entire visit. I am epileptic and to get meds for that would have to wait over 3 months to see someone for that. She didn't even give me the referrals she said she did. I had to have the front desk send

Always a great experience here, I called this morning to return a call and ask about my prescription, and Debbie the receptionist was very sweet and friendly. Emma McMicken has seen me several times and is always caring and professional. LVIM is really an asset to our community and has helped me with my health issues on numerous occasions. I can't thank them enough, they are such a blessing. 🩷
